Four members of the
Border Group, Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA)
recently competed at the Edinburgh and South of
Scotland Regional Dressage Qualifiers. The riders
who are all affected by Multiple Sclerosis benefit
from the balance and strength exercises of riding.
The event was held at the Drum, Edinburgh with over
40 riders competing from five RDA Groups across the
Region. |

First onto the
winners podium was Nancy Anderson from Lauder riding
Glen. Riding in her first competition she achieved
top marks in the Introduction to Dressage Test A.
Success quickly followed for Sandra Hay from
Tweedbank also riding Glen and competing for the
first time in the Introduction to Dressage Test C.
Team mate Suzie Ricketts from Scraesburgh, Jedburgh
riding Blair in her first competition came a very
close second in the same class. The final member of
the team, Jane Currie from Hawick, achieved runaway
success in the Freestyle to Music class and a
credible fourth in the Grade III Test 31.
The team would
especially like to thank their trainers, Alison
Buchanan and Dorrit Moon, and their support team who
made the day possible.
